Koni Village, Crete

This well-rated apartment complex does a good job with the simple holiday essentials: a large swimming pool, a sunny terrace, a friendly poolside bar and an economical restaurant. Prices are usually hard to beat. The entire property has a pleasantly fresh feel thanks to a hillside location with superb views of the sea and the surrounding hills. A 10 minute walk takes you down to an excellent Crete beach. Equally close are the bars and restaurants of the resort centre. Stalis has a very enjoyable nightlife scene but is a lot calmer than neighbouring Malia. Most guests will combine time on the beach with hotel relaxation around an excellent swimming pool with ample sun loungers and terrace space. Expect to find a broad mix of singles, couples and families of all ages. A popular poolside bar has a reputation for friendly service. The bar is also the venue for occasional barbecues or simple entertainment. Simple, bright, spacious apartments are located in attractive whitewashed low-rise buildings close to the pool. A restaurant serves freshly cooked meals at very economical prices. Local supermarkets make for hassle-free self-catering. The Koni Village may lay on modest entertainment but on the whole this is a hotel that will appeal to holidaymakers hoping to sample bars and nightlife in town. The Koni Village offers reliably low-price self-catering holiday accommodation throughout a long beach holiday season that sees temperatures hovering around 30º in peak summer and well into the 20’s in early and late season.

 

A ten-minute walk takes you to the centre of Stalis and a wide choice of bars and restaurants. A similar distance to Stalis Beach. Local buses stop outside the hotel.

 

One-bedroom apartments have a separate twin bedroom and sofa beds in the living area. Maximum capacity is 4. Smaller studios have 2 or 3 beds. All accommodation comes with a simple kitchenette with a 2 ring electric cooker, fridge, kettle and the self-catering basics. Studios and apartments are equipped with TV, radio and air-conditioning (extra charge). Bathrooms have a bath or shower and a balcony or terrace. Studios for single use are available. There are 120 apartments in total.

 

The highlight here is definitely the pool area and poolside bar. The hotel restaurant has a solid reputation for decent food and low prices. The complex has its own tennis court and a small mini-market. The hillside location means excellent sea views but the hill may be hard work for people with mobility problems. There are also quite a lot of steps within the property.
