Panicale Weather

Panicale lies in the hills of Umbria, close to Lake Trasimeno and the city of Perugia, and experiences a moderate Mediterranean climate, with warm dry summers and cooler wetter winters. Thanks to its proximity to the lake, the climate is generally mild, with the Apennine Mountains helping to shelter the region from the Adriatic and the cooler air coming down from the north. The town sees an average annual temperature of 18C, and as much as 10 hours of sunshine during the summer months.     

 

Spring is a delightful time to visit Panicale, and in April the temperature hovers around 17C, and there is 6 hours of sun every day. Conditions can be changeable, with 60mm - 70mm of rain during the month, but in general, the weather is ideal for exploring the countryside, and enjoying walking, biking and horse riding. May sees the temperature rise to 22C, and is accompanied by up to 8 hours of daily sunshine, whilst June experiences highs of 26C. These early summer days see 60mm - 80mm of rainfall, dropping to 40mm - 60mm in July and August - the hottest months of the year when the temperature soars to 29C, and there is 10 hours of sun every day.

 

September and October remain warm and pleasant, with highs of 19C - 25C and around 70mm - 80mm of rain. There's wetter weather in Panicale in the winter, with November receiving around 100mm of rain, and highs of 9C - 13C. January sees the coldest weather with highs of 8C, and just 3 hours of sunshine every day.
