Orvieto Weather – Long hot Italian summers
The weather in Orvieto is typically Mediterranean, meaning long hot dry summers with short mild winters. Summer temperatures in Orvieto can head close to the 30C mark but the average summer temperature is more likely to be a comfortable 25C. The climate in Orvieto is fairly stable all year round and rainfall will usually be focussed on Umbria during the autumn with September bringing some short-lived thunderstorms. February, March and October are considered the best months to holiday in Orvieto but hot weather lovers should consider the summer months of June, July, and August.
Weather in Orvieto – High levels of hot summer sunshine
Summer holidays in Orvieto will usually bring high temperatures of just under the 30C mark although this can be exceeded during the month of August. By the end of April the temperature in Orvieto will begin to head over the 20C mark and will not dip below this level until late October. Sunshine levels are high throughout the year and peak at 10 hours per day during the month of June. The high summer temperatures are perfect for a day at the beach at nearby Porto Ercole or a dip in the lake at Bolsena. The hottest month of August is holiday time for the Italians so relaxing by the pools will be a major daytime activity.
