Sightseeing
San Gimignano is ideally located to visit a number of famous cities and towns in Italy. The museums, art galleries and of course the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa is a short one hour trip from San Gimignano. The famous crystal makers at Colle Val d’Elsa are a mere 15 minutes away while the beautiful medieval town of Volterra can be reached in less than 20 minutes.
 
Golf
Golf lovers will be in heaven with the excellent golf courses available, and of course the warm climate means a round can be played at any time of the day. The excellent Golf Club Abbadia in Colle Val d'Elsa is a mere 18km from San Gimignano while the 18 hole Golf Club Castelfafi is located 20km from San Gimignano in Montaione.
 
Sports Activities
Holiday makers can indulge in a number of exciting sports activities in and around San Gimignano. The stunning Tuscan scenery is the perfect place for cycling, hill walking, and romantic horse riding trips. Visit Monte Amiate
Monte Amiata is one of the most breathtaking sights and boasts excelling skiing conditions during the winter months. The stunning mountain is also makes for an excellent sightseeing trip during the summer. The trip to Monte Amiata should take around one and half hours but there are plenty of charming little towns and villages to stop off at en route for a spot of lunch.
