San Casciano Weather

San Casciano lies between Florence and Siena in Northern Italy, just on the edge of the Chianti Classico region, deep in the Tuscan countryside. The town enjoys a mild continental climate, and sees warm spring and autumnal days, with hot weather during the summer, and cooler winters. 

 

San Casciano Weather - Warm dry days from spring to autumn 

For those looking to explore the scenic countryside and relax in the classic Tuscan setting, spring sees ideal weather for travelling in and around the town. April sees average temperatures of 18C, with May reaching 23C, and the sun shining for 8 hours each day. These early days in the season can be a little changeable, with an average of 70mm of rainfall each month, but in general conditions are perfect for touring the region before the weather heats up and the crowds appear. June sees daytime highs of 26C in San Casciano, and by July and August, the temperature has risen to 30C, and conditions become much more humid. The hot weather is accompanied by 10 hours of sunshine, and the days are dry, with just 35mm - 50mm of rain each month.

 

Autumn remains a very popular time to visit Tuscany, with the changing colours of the landscape enhancing the region's beauty. Average temperatures of 26C in September mean activities such as walking, hiking, biking and horse riding are all possible, and there's still 5 - 7 hours of daily sunshine. San Casciano does see an increased chance of rain, however, with September and October receiving 70mm - 80mm respectively.
