Weather in Pisa - Mediterranean climate in western Tuscany
The city of Pisa lies in western Tuscany, and enjoys a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot sunny summers and colder wetter winters. A popular destination with tourists, thanks to its famous Leaning Tower, the summer sees plenty of visitors, however conditions are ideal for sightseeing and city strolling during the warm spring and autumn months, without the intense heat and with fewer crowds.

March and April see pleasant conditions for a holiday in Pisa, with average daytime temperatures of between 14C - 18C, and 5 - 6 hours of daily sunshine. The days can be changeable at this time, with around 70mm - 80mm of rainfall, but this weather is ideal for touring, and walking around the city taking in the many historical sights, before the temperatures start to soar. May sees highs of 22C, with June rising to 25C, and the city experiencing 6 - 8 hours of sun each day, together with a slight increase in humidity. There is less rain, with 45mm - 65mm falling during these months, and the plentiful sunshine meaning lots of al fresco dining and evening strolls, with night-time temperatures reaching 14C. Summers see the hottest most humid weather, with July and August rising to 29C, and at least 9 - 10 hours of sunshine. This is peak season in Pisa, with the many visitors crowding the streets, and the main tourist attractions being very busy. Boat trips are a popular activity at this time, with many people also getting out to explore the surrounding Tuscan countryside and making trips to Florence and Lucca, or just relaxing around their pools, and enjoying leisurely Italian meals.

The weather remains dry and warm in September, another very enjoyable time to visit, when there are daytime highs of 25C, falling to 21C in October, and still plenty of sunshine - at least 6 hours each day. Rainfall at this time increases to 80mm during the month, with evening temperatures dropping to 11C. Winters see colder wetter weather in Pisa, with average daytime highs from December to February just 10C - 12C, and around 80mm - 120mm of rainfall each month.
