Montespertoli Things To Do

The Mostra del Chianti (Chianti Festival) is the main attraction in Montespertoli, with the last week in May seeing hordes of visitors descending on the small Tuscan town to sample the year's vintages. The piazza plays host to local wine-makers who come to display their recent wines, with the whole week filled with a celebration of wine, food and music.

 

Tasting the region's world-famous Chianti wines is a favourite pastime for most visitors, and there are plenty of wine routes to follow, giving both novices and afficionados an excellent introduction into the wines of the region.

 

To go with the robust red wines, the food of the area is rich and hearty, with the agriturismos, restaurants, trattorias and cafes a delight to tour, and most offering an exciting gourmet experience. There's a range of traditional Tuscan food to sample, including dishes such as ribollita, pappadelle with hare, panzanella and wild boar.  Cooking classes can also be arranged in the area.

 

The beautiful countryside of Tuscany has a vast network of trails running through the region, with the many paths in and around Montespertoli ideal for both leisurely strolls, nature walks and energetic hikes. 

 

With ideal terrain for cycling, the trails and paths are well-suited to mountain bikers, and the local hills and valleys boasting a number of challenges for riders.

 

A popular activity in Tuscany, horse riding in Montespertoli presents the perfect way to travel through the countryside, and experience its natural beauty and idyllic, rural setting.
