Montecatini Weather

Montecatini is located at the foot of the Pistoian Mountains in northern Tuscany and around two million holiday makers visit this area of Italy each year. The climate is one of the major holiday attractions and Montecatini boasts a fairly stable climate all year round. Summers in Montecatini will see high temperatures heading up to and over the 30C mark while winters will still be quite warm at around 10C. Spring and autumn months in Montecatini will bring temperatures of around 20C although some rainfall will occur during these seasons.

 

The best time to visit Montecatini will depend on holiday maker’s individual tastes. The summer months will be hot with very little rain and Montecatini does get busy with holiday makers enjoying the spectacular Tuscan countryside and the famous spas. Some holiday makers prefer the cooler winter months, which are still pleasantly warm but less crowded than the high season months. Sunshine levels are high during the summer months and holiday makers can expect around nine hours of hot Italian sunshine from May until the end of August. Evening summer temperatures will be around 17C; perfect for those al fresco Italian dinners.

 

Spring and autumn are popular holiday seasons in Montecatini. Temperatures will be around 20C and the sun will be shining down for around seven hours per day. This is the perfect time to explore the Tuscany region and visit exciting cities such as Florence, which is only 25 miles from Montecatini. December and January are the coolest months with temperatures hovering around 10C; comparable to a warm spring UK day. There will usually be rainfall during the winter but there will also be plenty of sunshine and this is the perfect season to indulge in the thermal waters that Montecatini is famous for.
