Weather in Montale - Moderate climate in the Tuscan countryside  
Montale lies in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, just 20 minutes from Montecatini and 40 minutes from Florence, and experiences a moderate climate with warm weather during the spring and autumn months. Summers are usually hot, and the winters very much cooler, with the region seeing an average annual temperature of 19C.   
 
Montale Weather - Spring sees warm sunny conditions, ideal for touring
Spring is a very popular time to visit Montale, with April and May seeing highs of 17C - 22C, and around 5 - 7 hours of sunshine each day. These mild warm days are ideal for walking, hiking and cycling, touring the Tuscan countryside and exploring some of the region's famous destinations such as Florence, Pisa and Lucca. The pleasant spring weather lets visitors experience the beauty of the region in the best conditions, without the intense heat and the crowds. Summers see temperatures in June rise to 26C, whilst in July and August, Montale can reach highs of 29C and bask in 9 hours of sun each day. Humidity does rise too in the summer, and conditions can get sticky and uncomfortable, with many choosing to lie by the pool, or do as the locals do and stay inside during the heat of the midday sun.

The weather can be more changeable however, with November being the rainiest time in Montale, receiving 111mm during the month, and October and December seeing around 90mm each. Winters can drop down to 9C in the coldest month of January, with limited sunshine - around 3 hours each day.
