Colle Val d'Elsa Weather

Colle Val d'Elsa lies in the Chianti countryside in central Tuscany, and offers a fantastic base for touring the beautiful Italian countryside in the spring, summer and autumn months. The region sees hot dry summers with wetter cooler winters, and enjoys an average annual temperature of 19C.

 

Spring sees ideal weather conditions for touring Chianti, with April and May reaching 18C - 23C, and the town enjoying 6 - 8 hours of sunshine each day. The warm sunny days are perfect for outdoor activities or sightseeing in neighbouring towns such as Siena, Florence and San Gimignano, and although these months can see around 70mm - 80mm of rain each month, the showers are generally short-lived. June begins to heat up if you are on a holiday in Colle Val d'Elsa, with highs of 26C and 9 hours of sun, with the peak season summer months seeing more crowds flock to the region. July is the hottest and driest month, experiencing highs of 30C and 40mm of rainfall, with this summer period ideal for sunbathing and relaxing, and leisurely morning or afternoon walks. With night-time temperatures of 17C, the evenings are perfect for al-fresco meals and after-dinner drinks in town. 

 

Autumn sees fewer crowds, but again great conditions for touring, with September and October experiencing highs of 20C - 26C, and 5 - 7 hours of sunshine. November is the rainiest month seeing 111mm of rain, and temperatures of 14C, with January being the coldest month, seeing 9C and only 3 hours of sunshine.
