Citerna Weather

Citerna lies between Arezzo in northeast Tuscany, and Citta di Castello in Umbria, and is perched on a hilltop with scenic views of the Upper Tiber Valley below. The town experiences a mild continental character, with warm summers and colder winters, and enjoys an average temperature of 13C.

 

A holiday in Citerna focuses on plenty of sightseeing, touring and exploring the rolling green hillsides of the Tuscan countryside, with visitors able to enjoy the spring, summer and autumn months when the weather is the best. The temperatures range from 13C - 18C from April to May, and September to October and the town sees between 5 - 7 hours of sun each day - ideal conditions for walking, hiking, cycling and horse-riding. These spring and autumn days can be changeable, with the months seeing on average around 65mm of rain. Summers see hotter weather and temperatures peaking in the month of August, with highs of 25C, and 10 hours of sun.  July is the driest month in Citerna, when the town receives around 40mm of rain.

 

Winter is a quiet time in Citerna but can be a good time to tour the major cities and historic art galleries of Tuscany, without the crowds. October sees highs of 13C, with the colder months of December and January experiencing average lows of 6C, with a maximum of 3 hours of daily sunshine. November is the wettest month in Citerna, receiving 65mm of rain during the month.
