Campagnatico Weather

The small village of Campagnatico lies in the Maremma region of western Tuscany, 10km north of the city of Grosseto and 57km from Siena. Located in the countryside and sitting on a hilltop, Campagnatico experiences a mild Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cold wet winters. The best time to visit is either during the warm spring and autumn months, or in the peak summer season.  

 

Nature-lovers and those looking to explore the scenic Tuscan countryside head to Campagnatico in either April or May, or September. Temperatures during this time are warm with average highs of 15C - 20C, and as the village sees around 5 - 6 hours of sunshine each day, conditions are ideal for touring the region, seeing the sights and enjoying the scenery. There can be rain during this time - around 250mm in spring - but in general the showers are light and short-lived. Summers heat up, with June seeing average highs of 23C and the peak summer months of July and August experiencing top temperatures of 27C - 28C - often meaning uncomfortable weather for travelling around and sightseeing, with many visitors content to relax in their villas and farmhouses, and enjoy lazy days in the village. Night-time temperatures during the peak season months reach 18C. Rainfall is at its lightest during the summer, with July being the driest month, receiving 60mm of rain.

 

Winters in Campagnatico experience much wetter weather, with October and November receiving the most rainfall - an average of 280mm each month. Temperatures drop during this time, with December and January seeing the coldest weather and highs of just 8C - 10C.
