Town
The medieval town boasts a rural charm, and enjoys a hilltop location with scenic views over the Ombrone Valley - ideal for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Campagnatico has a host of historic buildings within its fortress walls, narrow streets home to a number of well-preserved churches, a castle, and a handful of shops and rustic restaurants to linger in.
Countryside
Campagnatico is positioned in an idyllic setting, surrounded by rolling green hills full of fertile vineyards and olive groves. The glorious southern Tuscan countryside is tranquil and quiet, home to local wildlife such as wild boar, deer, hare and pheasants, with its classic landscape dotted with cypress trees and medieval hilltop towns.
Walking & Hiking
A favourite pastime is exploring the countryside on foot, with a host of trails, tracks and paths to follow. Whatever the pace, there is terrain for all level of walker, from leisurely strolls to more strenuous treks and organised hikes requiring a higher level of fitness.

Sports
Swimming and tennis can be enjoyed at the many local farmhouses and villas in the area, with hot-air ballooning available and three different golf courses within reach. Also in the surrounding area is the Ombrone River, where guests can enjoy sailing, canoeing and fishing.
Festival
The town's village festival, or 'sagra', is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and takes place in September, with local feasts and music, and the highlight of the celebration being the annual donkey race.
Days Out
Beaches within reach include Marina di Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia, and the thermal waters of spa towns such as Terme di Petriolo and Terme di Saturnia are close by. Siena lies 50km away, whilst the famous cities of Florence, Pisa and Rome are all possible day trips.
