Beach
Lido di Camaiore is the main beach area in the resort, with a 4km stretch of sand sitting on the Ligurian Sea. The coastal area is busy and colourful, with the town full of lively squares, wide streets and beautiful fountains, and served by plenty of hotels, shops, bars and restaurants.
Water Sports
Water sports to try on a holiday in Camaiore include pedaloes, windsurfing, sailing and boating, with deep-sea fishing trips available.
Sports
Sports to enjoy at Camaiore include indoor and outdoor tennis, squash, volleyball, football, skating, bowls and horse riding, and for golfers, there is an 18-hole course at Montiscendi.
Walking
The Apuane Alps offers a true taste of the Tuscan countryside, which is ideal for both leisurely walks and more strenuous treks. From the rolling green valley’s to the medieval hilltop towns, the rural area is a joy to discover, with hidden charms round each corner accompanied by stunning views.

Town
The market town of Camaiore is 9km inland, and boasts a traditional charm dating back to medieval times, with local markets, many historic monuments and a wealth of ancient art and architecture to see.

There is plenty of entertainment for visitors to Camaiore, with many events taking place down on the beachfront, from discos and piano bars, to open-air cinemas and music halls hosting concerts and art exhibitions. Opera fans could head to the the Pucchini Festival which is held in Torre Del Lago near Lucca each July and August.

Cuisine in Camaiore features Versilian-style dishes, with the coastal area of Lido di Camaiore serving up plenty of fresh seafood and grilled fish, and dishes such as zuppa di cozze (mussel soup) and risotto con le seppie (with cuttlefish. Up in the Old Town the local restaurants and bars offer heartier home cooking, with traditional dishes using regional Tuscan ingredients such as beans, chestnuts and mushrooms.
