Arezzo lies in the northeast region of Tuscany, 80km east of Florence, and sits on the banks of the River Arno. The climate is mild, and the town's inland location means that the region has a continental character, with more rain than the coastal resorts and cooler temperatures than the lower valleys of Tuscany.
