Arezzo Weather

Arezzo lies in the northeast region of Tuscany, 80km east of Florence, and sits on the banks of the River Arno. The climate is mild, and the town's inland location means that the region has a continental character, with more rain than the coastal resorts and cooler temperatures than the lower valleys of Tuscany.

 

Spring is an ideal time to have a holiday in Arezzo, as the warm weather and sunshine creates ideal conditions for viewing the town's historic sights and touring the scenic countryside. April and May see highs of 16C, with 8 hours of sunshine, and up to 65mm of rain each month. The temperature begins to heat up in June, reaching 18C, and by the peak summer months of July and August, the town sees average temperatures of 24C, and 10 hours of sunshine each day. Arezzo sees plenty of crowds during the summer, and the weather provides ideal conditions for lazing by the pool at a hotel or villa, late afternoon bike rides or strolls, and leisurely lunches in the shade. Rainfall during the summer is limited, with July and August seeing between 36mm - 50mm of rain each month. 

 

Autumn brings cooler weather, with the average temperature in September hovering at 18C, and the region still receiving 9 hours of sunshine. October drops to 13C, with only 5 hours of sun, and the weather really cools off in November, the wettest month in Arezzo, with up to 93mm of rain, when the average temperature is 9C. Winter sees average temperatures of 5C, and can be a good time to visit Arezzo's museums and galleries without the crowds.
