Art & History
Arezzo boasts a rich heritage, with plenty of historic sights to see throughout the town's well-preserved medieval centre, including famous frescoes, works of art, and stunning architecture. There are a number of museums and art galleries to tour, including the Archaeological Museum, the Medieval and Modern Art Museum, the Bruni Palace and Vasari's House. Churches to view in Arezzo include the Gothic Cathedral, the medieval church of San Fransesco and the Pieve of Santa Maria.
Weekly Market
A huge attraction is the town's antiques market, held on the first Sunday of each month, which features hundreds of dealers selling varied items such as furniture, sculpture, jewellery, paintings and prints. The market takes over the upper part of the city, and it makes for a fun and lively day out for visitors, even if not in the market to buy.
Countryside
The local Tuscan countryside around Arezzo is simply stunning, and offers scenic walks and drives. Exploring the region on foot or by mountain bike allows visitors to truly appreciate the natural beauty and charm of the countryside, with its hidden delights and spectacular views out across the rolling hills.

Arezzo's famous medieval festival 'The Saracen Joust of Arezzo' takes place in June and September, and features costumed knights re-enacting a jousting tournament in the Piazza San Fransisco.

Arezzo is ideally placed to tour Tuscany and all its famous sights and scenic countryside. The towns of Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino lie close by, and the cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena and Perugia are all easy day trips from Arezzo.
