Siracusa is located on the southeast coast of Sicily, and boasts a typically Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The average annual temperature in the area is 22C, and the peak season months can see up to 11 hours of sunshine each day.
Siracusa Weather - Hot sunny summer days - ideal for the beach
Spring brings warm days and intermittent rainfall in Siracusa, with March and April seeing highs of between 17C - 19C, 6 - 7 hours of sun and 30mm - 45mm of rain each month, with May experiencing hotter weather, and temperatures up to 23C. The weather is ideal for day trips and exploring the wealth of ancient sights that the resort is famous for, and the countryside is in full bloom at this time. Temperatures rise to 28C in June and can reach 31C in July and August, and the abundance of sunshine during these hot summer days means that most visitors head to the beach to relax, and soak in the Mediterranean waters with the sea temperature around 25C - 26C. May to September sees very limited rainfall in Siracusa, and the peak season months see higher humidity than usual, however the coastal breezes do serve to temper the heat. Siracusa also sees the effects of the hot and dry Sirocco winds that blow from North Africa, which adds to the intensity of the soaring temperatures.

September still sees highs of 28C and around 8 hours of sun each day, whilst October cools down to 24C and experiences much lower levels of humidity. The sea drops down to 23C and rainfall increases, with the resort seeing over 100mm during October - the wettest month. Winters are mild, with temperatures hovering around 15C and the sun shining for at least 4 hours each day.
