Mazzaro Weather

The resort of Mazzaro lies on the north-east coast of Sicily, and is the closest beach to the charming town of Taormina. Experiencing a dry Mediterranean climate, Mazzaro enjoys hot summers and mild, wetter winters. The resort welcomes most visitors to its beaches during the hot summer season, when the average temperature is 25C, and there is around 10 hours of glorious sunshine each day.

 

Spring is a beautiful time to visit, with April and May seeing temperatures of around 16C - 21C, and between 7 - 8 hours of sunshine daily. The waters are still chilly, around 16C - 18C, but inland the island starts to bloom and conditions are ideal for walking, hiking and cycling, and exploring the northeast corner of Sicily and beyond. Rain showers are scattered, with this spring season seeing an average of 30mm - 50mm each month. By June the weather is warmer, with highs of 25C and at least 10 hours of sunshine each day, and during July and August, the resort sees temperatures of 28C, and an increase in humidity. The Mediterranean Sea warms up to a wonderful 26C, great for swimming and water sports, and the beach becomes quite crowded during this busy peak season. Rainfall is extremely limited during the summer months, with July and August receiving just 15mm each.

 

The weather remains warm in Mazzaro into the autumn, with temperatures of 25C and 20C in September and October respectively, and the resort seeing 6 - 8 hours of sun. Rainfall does increase, with October, the wettest month of the year, receiving 100mm, and the winter seeing a steady 80mm - 90mm each month. Temperatures drop considerably in December, with average highs of 13C, with this cold weather continuing until March, and the sun only shining for around 4 - 5 hours each day.
