Mazzaro Things To Do

Accessible from the town on foot or by cable-car, Mazzaro is known as Taormina's main beach (and also referred to as Taormina Mare). With its sheltered sands along the bay and pebble beach’s perched on the Ionian Sea, it’s an ideal spot for fun in the sun and family holiday days out. Facilities include sun loungers, umbrellas and boat rental.

Water sports such as scuba-diving, snorkelling, banana boats, jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding and kayaking can be enjoyed in the resort.

 

Many hotels have swimming pools, gyms and exercise classes, and there is mountain bike, scooter and moped rental on offer at the resort. Golf, a driving range, tennis, and horse riding are all available nearby. 

 

The surrounding countryside is ideal for exploring on foot, and the mountainous Sicilian terrain hides a wealth of scenic trails and paths. Trips to Mount Etna are popular, and the volcanic landscape attracts as many hikers as sightseers.

 

Head to the historic Giardini Naxos to visit another sandy beach, go inland to Castelmola to sample the local almond wine, or travel to the nature reserve of Isola Bella, south of Mazzaro. There are many organised tours to Mount Etna, and towns such as Siracusa are within reach.
