Beaches
There is no shortage of beautiful beaches in Giardini Naxos. Holiday makers can choose from the long crescent shaped sandy bay known as the best beach in Sicily or head to the popular nearby beach at Taormina as well as the many other beaches dotted along the coastline. Giardini Naxos beaches ooze Sicilian sophistication and provide an abundance of water sports facilities and plenty of nearby restaurants and bars.
 
Excursions
An excursion from Giardini Naxos to Mount Etna simply cannot be missed. Mount Etna is an active volcano that, after millions of years, still erupts. Tours to Mount Etna can include traditional Sicilian towns such as Milo and Zafferana as well as stops at local farms to sample some locally produced Etna wine. The spectacular Alcantara Gorges or waterfalls can also be included in the tour as well as hiking through the forests during summer and skiing in the winter.
 
Taormina
Next door to Giardini Naxos lies the resort of Taormina that boasts historic ruins such as the Greek theatre that was used by the Romans for gladiatorial matches and some amazing medieval architecture. Taormino holds some of the best restaurants, shopping, and nightlife options in the Sicily.
