Floridia Weather

Located inland on the south-eastern corner of the island, close to Siracusa, the rural town of Floridia experiences a Mediterranean-like climate, with dry hot summers and mild winters. Peaceful and relaxing, the town sees an average annual temperature of 22C, with plenty of sunshine from late spring to autumn. 

 

Spring is a wonderful time to visit Floridia, with warm weather ideal for sightseeing and touring, and the constant daytime highs of 17C - 19C accompanied by 6 - 7 hours of sunshine. February sees the local countryside beginning to bloom, with March and April experiencing fairly changeable weather, and the rainfall levels of between 44mm - 60mm each month helping to create the lush green landscape. May sees Floridia heat up to 23C, with up to 9 hours of sun, whilst June experiences temperatures of 28C. The southeast region becomes very busy in the height of the summer, with the local beaches seeing plenty of visitors in July and August, when the temperature soars to 31C, and there is 11 hours of sunshine. Evenings see the temperatures reach 21C, ideal for al-fresco dinners in the local restaurants, and strolls around town. The summers are also the driest time of the year, with the period from June to August receiving just 5mm - 12mm each month, and the humidity level remaining high. 

 

Autumn in Sicily remains lovely and warm, with September in Floridia seeing daytime temperatures of 28C and up to 8 hours of sunshine, and the weather continuing to be fairly dry, with around 42mm of rainfall during the month. October temperatures drop to 24C, and November still sees highs of 20C. Although winters are short, the coolest month in Floridia is January, with temperatures of 15C, and just 4 hours of sunshine.
