Cefalù enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate, with damp, mild winters and hot, dry summers. Summers are long, with highs up to the mid 30°C's in July and August. Despite the high temperatures, humidity is relatively low, which is fortunate as sunshine reaches up to 10 or 11 hours in high summer. Cefalù is famed for its many al fresco restaurants and holiday makers should not visit the town without spending a summer evening dining and looking out across the sea, the cool dusk bringing welcome relief from the heat. Night time temperatures in the summer rarely fall beneath 18°C.
Cefalù Weather - Perfect beaches
Cefalù is renowned for its stunning, family friendly beaches for good reason. The weather in summer is exquisite, with sea temperatures rising to an incredible 26°C in August. Sun worshippers will find themselves in a beach paradise as rainfall in the summer months is very low. Be sure to bring hats, a high factor sun cream and bottled water out with you, especially if you plan to climb La Rocca in the daytime heat.

Spring weather in Cefalù brings a profusion of wild flowers to the countryside and this is a perfect time to explore the nearby Madonie Mountains before the summer heat takes hold. April brings the first forays into the sea for international holiday makers, and the beaches will be quiet and warm. Autumn in Cefalù brings only slightly cooler weather, with sea temperatures in October still high at 22°C. For those wanting a winter holiday, Cefalù is a fine choice. The coldest it gets is around 10-12°C and there is plenty to do around the town, despite the occasional storms which sweep the entire Italian coast in November. December sees Sicilians preparing for Christmas, which is celebrated during January in what Northern Europeans would consider positively balmy conditions!
