Beaches
Beach lovers will be in heaven with the idyllic Poetto Beach in Cagliari. Poetto Beach is located 10 minutes from the centre of Cagliari and the white sands stretch for an amazing 8km, complete with flamingos. There are plenty of bars, cafes and nightclubs dotted along the beach area. The beautiful beach is the perfect place to recharge before heading back to vibrant Cagliari.
 
Sightseeing
Sardinia holds many sightseeing opportunities and Cagliari is the ideal base from which to explore this fascinating island. The bustling resort of Pula is the place for live music and folk dancing during the summer months. The archaeological site of Norah is impressive for its sheer scale and the sea front setting of this ancient city. The dazzling white dunes of Chia should not be missed and the town of Villasimius provides excellent restaurants and a bustling piazza.
 
Water Sports
The warm Mediterranean Sea waters are perfect for swimming, snorkelling and boat trips. There are dive centers in Cagliari, and qualified instructors will provide lessons and excursions to dive sites such as the Salpi and Romagna wrecks.
 
Golf
There are some amazing golf courses within easy reach of Cagliari. Molas golf course features a 27-hole course and spectacular sea views. Sperone near Bonifacio is another amazing 18-hole golf course with unparalleled views of the southern coastline. The beautiful St Tanca golf course is only a few minutes drive from Cagliari.
 
Horse Riding and Cycling
The countryside surround Cagliari is ideal for horse riding, cycling and hill walking. Deep gorges, dramatic coastal cliffs and golden beaches are all available near Cagliari. A day trip to Gennargentu, Sardinia’s highest mountain range, will provide dramatic views including one of Europe’s last regions where wild horses roam the countryside.
