Neapolitan Riviera Weather - Long hot summers
Boasting some of Italy's best beaches and stunning coastal scenery, holidays on the Neapolitan Riviera are understandably very popular during summer. The combination of hot summers with long sunny days and the tempting waters of the bay of Naples make for an unforgettable beach holiday. However, the Neapolitan Riviera has so much more to offer than beaches and with stunning coastal towns such as Sorrento, islands to explore and incredible Roman ruins scattered throughout the entire region, if you feel the need to tear yourself away from the wonderful beaches, you will find so much to remember. This richness of attractions makes the Neapolitan Riviera the perfect year round destination.
Weather on the Neapolitan Riviera - Rainfall rare in summer
The vast majority of visitors pick the Neapolitan Riviera to enjoy the great beaches and idyllic scenery and the weather helps make the perfect summer holiday. In July and August, the average daily temperature is around 28 degrees with 10 hours of sunshine while gentle sea breezes help to keep the temperature at a comfortable level. Remaining pleasantly warm in the evening with the average a balmy 19 degrees, the Neapolitan Riviera makes the most of the excellent weather conditions with a family friendly al fresco lifestyle in the resorts. Neapolitan Riviera Weather - Beautiful in spring
There is good reason to consider a Neapolitan Riviera holiday outside the summer season. Not only does the bay of Naples boast must see sights such as Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii but the weather conditions remain excellent in the quieter months. A beach holiday in May, June, September or October is a realistic proposal with highs in the low to mid 20s and up to 8 hours of sunshine. The island of Capri, just a short hop from Naples, is famous for its wild flowers and these are especially beautiful in springtime and there are countless opportunities for strolling or hiking on coastal paths both here and on the mainland. Whilst there is a greater chance of rain in spring and autumn, the staggering choice of activities on offer will not dampen your enthusiasm.
