The Liguria Region Weather - Very hot in summer
Holidays in Italy can grow extremely hot in the summer time but unlike more inland areas, Liguria enjoys the refreshing ocean breezes from the Mediterranean and its northern location results in slightly lower average temperatures. The endless beaches of Liguria make it the perfect summer destination and with the sea on your doorstep, a cooling dip is never far away. Taking a break from the heat is also made simple by the proximity of mountain ranges that line inland Liguria.

Most visitors head to Liguria in the summer season to make the most of the stunning coastline and gorgeous beaches. Average temperatures of around 26 degrees can be expected in July and August and with up to 9 hours of sunshine you have all the ingredients for the perfect beach holiday. Temperatures remain warm in the evening so al fresco dining is the norm. With only a low chance of rain in summer there should be nothing to dampen your mood as you make the most of the blue skies and warm seas.

As Italians head to the coast in the summer months, it can get very busy. Those hoping to avoid the crowds should consider a Liguria region holiday in spring and autumn. With temperatures averaging 19 degrees in May and October and around 7 hours of sunshine a day, the beach is still an attractive option. As the Liguria region is lined by mountain ranges these are also perfect seasons for hikes in stunning, green scenery or strolls in pretty rural villages. With a greater chance of rain in the mountains you have the perfect excuse for hiding away in a café and sampling the local delicacies.
