The province of L’Aquila in Southern Abruzzo plays host to the beautiful village of Pescasseroli. During the winter months Pescasseroli becomes the home of winter sports. Although a relatively small resort Pescasseroli really makes up for this with a vertical range of 778 metres. There are 6 ski lifts serving 15 slopes, as well as cross-country skiing and a half pipe on offer. Within the resort there are also 3 restaurants to keep you supplied during your action packed day. When tiring of the downhill action you can take a trip to the fossil glaciers at Marchiavaro, or explore the medieval church of San Paolo ad Pesculum Serule or the ruins of Castel Mancino.

 

Miles of virgin Beech forest surrounded by six peaks of over 2000 metres make for spectacular surroundings for your lakes and mountains holiday to Pescasseroli. The national park is home to various exciting species you may encounter on your trek around the park, with Marsicon brown bears, Italian wolves, Roe deer and wild boar to name but a few.
