These conditions are ideal for exploring the famous stretch of Amalfi coastline and touring the towns' colourful gardens, which are typically in bloom during this time. Visitors who arrive in June for the annual Wagner festival are treated to temperatures of up to 24C, and 9 hours of sun each day. The peak season months of July and August experience very hot weather with temperatures soaring to 27C, and send most holiday-makers to the coast, where the warm waters of the Mediterranean reach temperatures of up to 27C from July to September. Evening temperatures in Ravello hover around 16C - 18C during the summer months, and in general, May to September is dry, seeing between 20mm - 40mm of rain fall each month. Late summer is a popular time to visit, when temperatures drop slightly to 24C in September and there is still 8 hours of sunshine each day.
