Maiori Weather
Maoiri Weather – Beautiful sunshine on the Amalfi Coast
Maoiri is situated on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, facing south across the calm, sparkling Bay of Salerno. It offers a superb southern Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine but without the extremely high summer temperatures and humidity sometimes found further east. Winters are mild but wet; summers are hot and dry, with up to 10 hours sunshine per day. Spring and autumn are warm and pleasant. Maoiri, with its long beach and excellent transport connections is an ideal destination for a summer holiday in the sun or for exploring this spectacular coast at any time.
Weather in Maiori – Long summers, warm springs, mild winters
The best time to visit depends on what kind of holiday you want. Sun seekers who like it hot may want to travel in July and August, when average temperatures reach 27°C and the sea is just as warm, but the Amalfi Coast will be crowded then. April or May is an excellent time to visit the ancient sites or enjoy an activity holiday – hiking trails are particularly splendid as spring brings a blaze of colour. By September the crowds will have thinned out and temperatures will still average 24°C while the sea will be a degree warmer. And there may be some autumn bargains to be had.
Maiori Weather – Mediterranean sun lighting up one of the world’s great coastlines
Although there’s no bad time to visit Maiori, many of the restaurants, ferries and tourist facilities close for winter, with the exception of the Christmas period. The steep cliffs and winding coast road with the mountains behind can look even more dramatic as they emerge from a winter fog, but most holidaymakers like to see some sun, and anyone coming here from April to October should not be disappointed. With lemon-tinged sea breezes taking the edge off the summer heat (the Lattari Mountains protect the town from stronger winds), Maiori’s weather ensures that visitors can make the most of this stunning destination.
