Kalutara Weather
Kalutara Weather - Tropical Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is situated just south of India and enjoys the tropical climate of the region. Temperatures are high, so allow yourself time to acclimatise. The town of Kalutara is in the south west of the island and as it is on the coast, the weather conditions are slightly different to the inland areas. Humidity tends to be high in Sri Lanka but is modified on the coast by breezes from across the sea and this should keep the heat bearable on the hottest days. If you venture inland, this breeze will fall and the heat will seem more uncomfortable, unless you reach the higher altitudes which will be a lot cooler. Average rainfall in Kalutara is around 2,400 millimetres a year.
