Beaches
With its brilliant blue seas and dazzling white sands, the beach at Le Morne is an idyllic spot for relaxing sunbathing, and is one of the most popular spots on the island, thanks to the shallow calm lagoon - ideal for swimming and water sports.
Water Sports
The beach offers pedalos, waterskiing, surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, paragliding and parasailing, with Le Morne known as the best place on the island to practice kite surfing.
Scuba Diving
Le Morne's crystal-clear reefs offer fantastic scuba-diving conditions, and the region boasts some of Mauritius' most famous dive sites, as well as a wide variety of colourful tropical fish.
Boat Trips
Trips by speedboat or catamaran are offered from Le Morne, as are glass-bottomed boat rides along the coast. Southwest Mauritius is known for its abundance of dolphins, and there are various viewing trips to see them in their natural habitat.

Walking & Hiking
Western Mauritius boasts some stunning walking trails and hiking paths, mainly in the Le Morne Mountains and Black River Gorges, the island's national park. There are trails to suit all level of walker and many guided hikes, with some also incorporating thrilling zip-lines for adventurous trekkers.
Golf
The west coast is also home to 2 golf courses - the par-72 Paradis Golf Club and the 18-hole Tamarina Golf Estate and Beach Club, both offering well-designed holes and impressive views. For avid golfers, the island has over 20 other courses to choose from.
Trips & Excursions
Le Morne is rich in history, and there are various sights and museums that celebrate the area's heritage, such as the Martello Towers and Eureka Museum. Day trips include the Black River Gorges and its sacred lake, the bird park at Casela, the Bois Cheri tea plantation, the Tamil temple in Abercrombie and Pamplemousses Royal Botanical Gardens.
