Velavaru Island Resort is located in the Dhaalu Atoll, considered one of the most unspoilt areas in the Maldives. The temperature in Velavaru Island Resort will not usually dip below 30C throughout the year, even during the rainy season. Velavaru Island Resort is a true all year round sunshine destination that will provide spectacular weather no matter which season holiday makers choose to visit.

 

The weather in Velavaru Island Resort will be hot throughout the year with November through April considered the best season to visit. This period is known as the dry season and rainfall and humidity levels will be at their lowest point. Temperatures will be over the 30C mark, which may seem excessive to some but cool ocean breezes will temper the heat. The lagoons will be a warm 26C and will be ideal for diving, swimming, and snorkelling. Temperatures will increase during April and there may be a chance of rainfall and higher humidity levels during this month.

 

The main difference in the seasonal climate conditions in Velavaru Island Resort will be the amount of rainfall. There are two monsoon seasons with the southwest monsoon between May and October bringing the heavier rains. The monsoon season will not bring continuous rain and in most cases the rain can be over in a matter of minutes to be quickly dried by the hot sunshine. May to October is considered the low season although temperatures during this period will still be around 30C and there will still be an abundance of sunshine.
