North Ari Atoll Weather

North Ari Atoll lies in the Indian Ocean, and is the second westernmost group of islands in the Maldives. Boasting a tropical climate, the weather is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday, with blue skies, high temperatures and abundant sunshine all year round. The best time for a holiday to North Ari Atoll is during the British winter, when the weather it its driest with the most comfortable conditions, thanks to the warm northeast monsoon that blows through the islands.  

 

January and February see perhaps the best conditions in North Ari Atoll, with highs of 30C and up to 8 - 9 hours of sunshine each day. This period experiences moderate humidity and the driest weather of the year, with between 60mm - 90mm of rain falling each month. March sees increased humidity levels, and the temperature start to rise, with April being the hottest month of the year, experiencing highs of 32C. The humid weather continues until June, when the temperature drops slightly to 30C and there is 7 hours of daily sunshine. The sea temperature remains warm and pleasant throughout the year, with the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean hovering around 27C - 30C, creating ideal conditions for the world-class diving found here.     

There is increased rainfall in North Ari Atoll during late spring and summer, thanks to the southwest monsoon that sweeps through the islands. May and October see the wettest weather, with 211mm and 229mm of rainfall respectively, with the months in between receiving between 150mm - 200mm.
