The best weather is seen from November to April, when the dry northeast monsoon blows through the region, bringing comfortable conditions. January to March sees the ideal climate, boasting highs of 30C - 31C, between 8 - 9 hours of daily sunshine, and the driest weather of the year, with each month receiving 68mm - 90mm of rain. Evening temperatures at this time remain around 25C - 26C - great for al fresco dining and moonlit strolls, and the waters of the Indian Ocean hover around  28C, meaning wonderful conditions for swimming, water sports and boat trips. April sees the daytime temperature rise up to 32C, and the humidity increase to a more uncomfortable level, as the island prepares for the beginning of the rainy season.
