Lohifushi Island Resort Weather

Lohifushi Island Resort sits in the North Male Atoll, just 30 minutes away from the capital, Male. The resort experiences a hot, tropical climate, with two monsoons - the northeast and the southwest - dictating the weather patterns. The best time to visit Lohifushi Island Resort is during the British winter, when conditions are ideal for an idyllic beach holiday. 

 

With the northeast monsoon blowing through the resort from November to March, January to March sees the best conditions of the season. Lohifushi Island Resort not only sees highs of 30C - 31C at this time, with 8 - 9 hours of sunshine, but also experiences the driest weather of the year. This period only receives 65mm - 90mm of rainfall each month and there is a comfortable level of humidity to accompany the high temperatures and abundant sunshine. Spring sees the temperature rise as the southwest monsoon starts to arrive, with April seeing average highs of 32C and humidity begin to climb to uncomfortable levels up until July.

 

The rainy season hits the islands in the spring, bringing increased rainfall, with May receiving 211mm, and the rest of the year seeing a steady amount of rain each month - around 200mm. Temperatures remain a constant 30C from June to December, with the summer months seeing 7 hours of sunshine. October experiences 8 hours of daily sun, and the rainiest weather of all at this time - a monthly average of 229mm. November sees the northwest monsoon arrive, bringing drier weather, and the start of the tourist season. A favourite surfing destination, the best months for the sport are March to October.
