Weather in Kandooma Island Resort - Hot tropical climate in the South Male Atoll
Kandooma Island Resort is located in the middle of the South Male Atoll in the Maldives, and lies 23 miles from Male airport. Like the rest of the islands, the region experiences a hot tropical climate, with two monsoons - the dry and the rainy season, when the rainfall level fluctuates dramatically.

Temperatures remain high throughout the year in Kandooma Island Resort, and hover between 30C - 32C every month. Due to the northeast monsoon, which runs from November to March, the winters see the best conditions for a beach holiday, with January and February in particular seeing lovely hot dry weather, with 8 - 9 hours of sunshine adding to the appeal. With highs of 30C, rainfall levels of 70mm - 90mm and a high but not uncomfortable level of humidity, the climate is ideal for relaxing on the beach and enjoying water sports, especially with the waters of the Indian Ocean hovering around 28C - 29C at this time. During March, April and May the temperature rises slightly, and the resort sees the hottest weather of the year - up to 32C, and an increased humidity level during these spring days. May sees the start of the southwest monsoon, and brings more rainfall.

Sea temperature remains between 28C - 29C during the southwest monsoon.
