North Goa or south Goa?

A holiday in North Goa or south Goa?

North Goa - More of a party atmosphere than the south
North Goa is a lively mix of colourful markets and restaurants offering delicious specialities and is generally regarded as having more of a party atmosphere than the south. The north of Goa, has some of the finest beaches edged by tall cliffs including Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator and Chapora with an old fort overlooking the beach. Arambol Beach has a fresh water pond at the base of a forested hill. Tourism first began in Goa in the resort of Calangute, which was once a popular hang out for hippies. Today it is better known for its beaches and great bars and restaurants. To the south, the quieter resort of Candolim, has a selection of beach shacks and shops and a great choice of restaurants. South Goa - A holiday in south Goa is more relaxed
In the South there is a much slower pace to life with quiet fishing villages nestling on the coast and paddy fields with natural wildlife inland. A holiday in south Goa is more relaxed than the north. The beaches of south Goa with white sand and calm sea comprise of Bogmolo, Colva, Benaulim, Cavelossim and Mabor. South Goa still remains relatively untouched and many of the larger 4 and 5* hotels are located on their own unspoilt beaches. The beaches of southern Goa are some of the finest in the world and whichever hotel you choose you will find a relaxed and laid back lifestyle

Weather in North Goa and South Goa
Visitors are unlikely to notice any difference in weather between the North and South coasts, although the North is often a degree warmer and has slightly higher humidity. Differences between the coast and inland are far more marked. Away from the coast temperatures are hotter without the cooling sea breezes, while hill and mountain regions are cooler with more rain. With Goa’s beaches being the state’s main attraction, perhaps it comes down to: do you like beautiful sun-drenched beaches with lots of life (the North), or beautiful sun-drenched beaches that are a little quieter (the South)?
