Bardez Things To Do

Beaches
First and foremost among attractions in Bardez are the beaches of the Indian Ocean. Candolim beach is a famously long swathe of white sand where it is still possible to find secluded spots. Watch local fishermen bringing in the catch with traditional nets. Bars and restaurants serve delicious Goan cuisine and freshly caught fish and seafood. Lively Goa resorts like Calangute, Baga and Anjuna combine beautiful settings with a terrifically enjoyable mix of visitors and cultures. Beaches like Anjuna have a wide range of bars and restaurants.

Eating
Restaurants in the Bardez region range from charming beach bars to romantic luxury hotels in the Bardez backwaters. Bardez all-inclusive holiday hotels feature wonderfully atmospheric restaurants. Seafood is superb. Goan cuisine is wonderfully tasty. The backpacker areas of the coast offer a fun selection of world cuisines, including Tibetan, Chinese, Thai and English! Restaurants at Chapora harbour enjoy a beautiful setting.

Attractions & Sights
Visit Aguda for its very well-preserved 17th century Portuguese fort with superb views of the River Mandovi and Panjim City. 16th Chapora fort is a good excuse to eat at Chapora harbour. An excursion from Bardez to Anjuna is recommended for the famous flea market: a wonderfully exotic experience that harks back to Goa’s hippy heyday. Longer Bardez excursions typically include Monte Guirim Monastery, Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, Dandeli National Park, the Shree Mahalaxmi Temple, the magnificent Dudhsagar waterfalls and the elephants of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary.

Diving & Water Sports
Diving in Goa is spectacular. Marine life includes sharks, turtles and barracuda. Wrecks of Spanish and Portuguese galleons provide fascinating dives. Water sport tuition includes parasailing, jet-skiing, wind-surfing and waterskiing. Bardez boat trips go in search of crocodiles and dolphins. Romantic backwater boat trips are a must.

Nightlife
Candolim, with its laid-back beach bars, is a great spot for a sunset cocktail.  Baga and Calangute are livelier options if you want to mix with backpackers and dance. Anjuna beach hosts all-night, full-moon beach parties, where you can dance until dawn. Both Chapora and Vagator offer relaxed fun.
