The Holiday Village (also known as the Alto da Colina Aparthotel) is a fantastic place for families with children. The resort attracts lots of couples too. Spacious grounds and a choice of pools mean plenty of quietly relaxing areas away from the children. In fact the pools here are among the largest on the Algarve. Low-season visitors can enjoy an impressive heated indoor pool. Most kids will be happy to play for hours at the splash pool and water slides. An excellent kids club provides an imaginative programme that includes everything from chocolate workshops to high rope climbing and raft making! Parents can relax at the quieter pool and leave their kids to enjoy the fun. A virtually non-stop programme of activities is fun for teenagers and adults too! The entertainment team continues into the evening with games, quizzes, competitions, cabaret, party nights, children’s entertainment, bingo, karaoke and live shows. Incredibly spacious family rooms are a huge hit with parents. Guests of every age will appreciate a choice of dining venues that includes a la carte speciality restaurants. All accommodation comes with a well-equipped kitchen area and a large balcony. An onsite supermarket makes for hassle-free self-catering. The quiet resort of Balaia is ideally located for exploring neighbouring beach resorts and an especially pretty stretch of Algarve coastline. The lively nightlife of Albufeira is a cheap taxi ride from the hotel. A very highly recommended resort-style hotel for couples and families of all ages.

 

A footpath and steps is the quickest way to the beach. A 10-15 minute walk. The hotel operates a shuttle bus service. Pleasant walks take you to the splendid beaches at Praia d'Oura, Olhos d’Agua and upmarket Vilamoura. About 6km from Albufeira Old Town. A 45 minute transfer from Faro Airport.

 

Comfortable rooms and apartmentsare well furnished and very spacious. Kitchenettes are a cut above the usual kitchens found on the Algarve. A 4 ring cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and pots and pans. All accommodation comes with air-conditioning, satellite TV, hairdryer and a good-size balcony. Sofa beds allow one-bedroom apartments to accommodate 4. Two bedroom apartments can sleep 6. Smaller standard twin rooms can sleep 2 adults and 1 child. Family rooms sleep 2 adults and 2 children, with bunk beds in the bedroom, twin beds in the living area. Sea-view and interconnecting rooms are available at a supplement. Very efficient maid service.

 

This is a very well-equipped hotel. Truly outstanding pools in extensive grounds. Kids love the splash park and slides. Sports activities include tennis and a multi-sports court. Convenient extras include a supermarket, coin-op launderette and internet access.
