Buses in the region are known as dolmuses, and a ten minute journey on the Bodrum dolmus will deliver you to a much larger night-time playground. From Gumbet families and couples also make the short trip to Bodrum for shopping and to visit the many sites and museums at the historic town. Bodrum Airport also serves Gumbert. Transfer time is approximately one hour.
Gumbet Holidays - day trips to remember There’s no shortage of holiday activities in and around Gumbet. Popular pursuits include sailing, parasailing, windsurfing and mountain biking. From Gumbet you can take a boat trip out to the Greek Island of Kos, while a trip to the Black Island includes the chance to swim in a grotto. The ancient city of Ephesus is a two hour drive away, so many trips from Gumbet head to this remarkable place. Ephesus was founded around 3000 BC, and forms the largest collection in the world of classical architecture dating back to the time when St Paul briefly lived there. You can see monumental fountains, Roman baths and an amphitheatre, which could seat 25,000. The Saturday market at the pretty resort of Turgutreis is a 30 minute ride away from Gumbet, which also makes a fun trip.
