Weather in Pelion
Situated between Athens and Thessaloniki on the eastern coast of Greece, the Pelion peninsula enjoys an extremely healthy and temperate climate, with hot summers and cool winters. A verdant and relatively unspoilt region, the area offers an immense natural beauty, with its weather heavily influenced by the combination of forested mountains and Aegean coastline, resulting in large variations between the seasons.

A year-round destination, the most popular time to visit Pelion is during the summer months when the average temperature reaches a very pleasant 26C. Highs of over 30C are not uncommon during July and August, and the beaches are filled with holidaymakers eager to relax by the sea, with the water temperature remaining a warm and pleasant 21C until the end of October. Spring and autumn see temperatures of between 16C - 23C, and up to 10 hours of sunshine every day - ideal conditions for exploring the many hiking trails and walking paths that cross the forest-clad mountains.

The period between November and February sees the rainy season, helping the island retain its green lush landscape and abundance of blooming plants and flowers. Pelion sees an average of one week of rainfall every month during the winter, with temperatures dropping down to 7C. The climate is heavily influenced by Mount Pelion, at 1,550m, which sees snow in the winter months and is a popular ski resort.
