Kala Nera Weather
Kala Nera weather – Warm summers
You'd be forgiven for thinking that the weather in Kala Nera on the Pelion peninsula would be unremittingly hot. This is Greece, after all. But, whilst it's true that temperatures in July and August can reach the low 30s celsius, the Pelion peninsula is a much cooler region, with summer temperatures averaging around the mid-20s and a lot of rainfall during the winter, which is responsible for the verdant woodlands and pastures that make this such a beautiful part of the world.
Weather in Kala Nera – Nice out of season
The weather in Kala Nera isn't such a big factor in its reputation as a year-round resort. That's because there's plenty to do here – as well as the beauty of the mountains and sea, you can enjoy skiing, trekking, horse riding and cycling. Unlike some more Mediterranean areas of Greece, summer weather in Kala Nera isn't always scorchingly hot, too, enabling you to pursue outdoor activities throughout the year. Typically, in July and August, you'll see daytime temperatures around the mid-20s, although this can creep into the low 30s. If that's too hot to handle, you might enjoy a stay here in spring or autumn, with temperatures in the high teens and low 20s.
Kala Nera weather – Prepare for the heat
Even though weather in Kala Nera doesn't compare to Greece's more Mediterranean regions, temperatures here in July and August can still reach 30 degrees or so. Obviously, this means you should observe simple rules, like covering up with light clothing, wearing a hat and sunglasses and regularly re-applying high-factor sunscreen. If you're sunbathing, try to avoid the hot midday temperatures and drink plenty of water. Away from the summer, pack a light jumper or fleece for the chillier evenings.
