Excursions
On a Parga Town holiday, there's no excuse for not taking a boat trip out to the smallest islands in the Ionian. Leaving Parga jetty at 10am each day, your boat heads out to Lakka and Antipaxos, which itself has a lovely beach and clear blue waters that are perfect for swimming, then to Paxos with its sleepy fishing villages. As you visit the bays of Logos, Lakka and the caves, keep a keen eye out for dolphins.
Beaches
A Parga Town holiday puts you within walking distance of two small yet beautiful beaches where you can hire umbrellas and sun beds. Lichnos is clean and quiet and lies within a tree-clad bay. Watch out for the day-trippers arriving in the water-taxis from Parga. Why not try water-skiing from the beach water sports centre or even wakeboarding? Keep yourself refuelled with snacks and meals from the numerous tavernas and restaurants. Valtos is Parga's better beach – a 1.5km pebble and sand affair beyond the Venetian fortress. It's a 20-minute walk through olive groves and a haven for windsurfing and parascending.
Cuisine
This is a Greek holiday and, like the rest of the country, Parga Town doesn't disappoint on the eating front. In Parga, you'll find many restaurants and tavernas catering for everything from pizza and fast food to restaurants providing the finest foods and wines from around the world. For posher eateries, try Parga's old quarter behind the harbour front.
Walking & Windsurfing
Parga Town is a charming holiday resort in a large bay. Olive groves and mountains protect the bustling harbour, which is a mecca for restaurant, bars and nightspots, without being over-commercialised. For walkers, a Parga Town holiday is ideal. To get great views of Parga, go beyond Krioneri beach. When you reach a bakery, turn right towards the church on the headland. It's a two-hour round trip, but well worth the effort. For the even more active, you can try water-skiing, sailing, snorkelling, windsurfing and scuba diving in some of the world's most exciting diving locations. This is an ideal place to go on a diving holiday.
