Laganas Things to Do

things to do in Laganas
Nightlife
The main attraction for many British visitors, nightlife in Laganas is the best on the island, with more than 100 bars and clubs in town offering non-stop entertainment for young party-goers, with many open all night.

Beaches
One of the best beaches on Zante, Laganas stretches for 9km and offers plenty of space for sunbathing, with tourist facilities such as sun beds and umbrellas, and convenient beach bars. Despite being a lively resort, the beach is a protected area and part of a National Marine Park, due to the endangered loggerhead turtles that nest in the sands in the summer.

Water Sports
There are some water sports available such as jet skiing, banana boat rides, sailing and scuba diving, but motorised water sports are limited along some stretches of the beach, to protect the turtles in their natural habitat.

Sports & Activities
Plenty of swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball, fitness centres, table-tennis and pool, whilst mountain bikes can be rented, and there is horse riding nearby.

Walking & Hiking
For a change of scene, away from the beach is verdant countryside that can be explored on foot, with paths and trails leading through the olive groves and vineyards, displaying the natural beauty of the island.

Day Trips
Venture inland to tour traditional white-washed villages and towns, or visit Zante Town for more shopping and dining. Take one of the many boat trips, from a glass-bottomed boat trip around the bay to spot the turtles, to a day's cruise to see the Blue Caves and the famous Smugglers Cove on the west coast.
