Beaches
The main focus of the resort is the beach, which is shared by both Alykes and Alikanas. A very long stretch of sand offering a good base for families thanks to its gently shelving sands and shallow waters, there's also convenient umbrellas and sun beds provided.
 
Water Sports
Water sports available at Alikanas Beach include pedaloes, jet skiing, banana boat rides, canoes, hydrojets, snorkelling and paragliding, as well as dinghy and speedboat rental.
 
Sports & Activities
Hotels in the area have swimming pools, table tennis and billiards, and there are facilities for tennis, mini-golf and horse riding. Bike rental is also available, and jeep safaris are a great way to tour the island.
 
Boat Trips
There are boat trips to take out to popular attractions such as the famous Blue Caves on the northern tip, and Shipwreck Beach in Smugglers Cove on the west coast, or out across to neighbouring Kefalonia.
 
Walking & Hiking
Behind the beach lies a rural countryside full of olive groves and the region's famous salt lakes to explore, with enthusiasts able to take coastal strolls or more energetic hikes inland. The spring and autumn months see the best weather for walking and hiking on Zante
 
Day Trips
Take the Tourist Train from Alikanas to see the area, head to the capital, Zante Town, for shopping and dining, or visit sights such as St John the Baptist Monastery and Pentokamaro Old Bridge. For a taste of traditional island life, tour the island stopping at local villages, before travelling south to the Bay of Laganas where the famous Caretta Caretta Turtles nest.
