Alikanas Weather

The resort of Alikanas lies on the north coast of Zante, and boasts a mild Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and cooler wetter winters. With an average summer temperature of 28C in Alikanas, and as much as 13 hours of daily sunshine, the peak season months are an ideal time to visit and spend time relaxing on the beaches.

 

Spring in Zante sees warm weather, with April temperatures reaching 18C and the sun shining for 8 hours - great conditions for walking and cycling trips around the island, and sightseeing tours. There are a few showers at this time, but the days are generally dry, with an average of 54mm of monthly rain. May heats up to 23C, with 10 hours of sun, and by June, Alikanas is enjoying average highs of 27C each day, and extremely limited rainfall of just 11mm. Evening temperatures remain pleasant, reaching 17C, and the humidity level begins to increase at this time. The peak season months of July and August experience average highs of 30C and up to 13 hours of sun, with these long summer days ideal for relaxing on the beaches, with plenty of sunbathing and swimming, thanks to the sea temperatures reaching 26C in August. There is a little wind during the summer, as the northerly meltemi blows across the island, which helps to temper the heat on very hot days.

Hot weather continues into September, with highs of 27C and 10 hours of daily sunshine, and by October, Alikanas is seeing cooler weather, with the average daytime temperature reaching 22C, and the sun shining for 7 hours each day. There is a marked increase in rain, with October receiving 139mm during the month, and this weather continuing throughout the winter, when the wettest month of December sees 188mm of rain. Temperatures remain mild during the low-season, with the coldest months of January and February dropping to just 13C, and the resort still seeing 5 hours of sunshine.
