Day trips from Potos can include the sights of the island’s capital, Thassos Town. Thassos Town boasts ancient archaeological ruins dating back to the 7^th century BC including a theatre and the Shrine to Pan. A quick 45 minute hydrofoil trip from Thassos harbour will take holiday makers to Kavala on mainland Greece where the restaurants and tavernas can be sampled in the Turkish Quarter.
