Golden Beach Weather

Holiday makers looking for white sand beaches and a beautiful climate in which to enjoy them will easily fall in love with Golden Beach. Located on the sun drenched east coast of Thassos, this resort is blessed with an abundance of sunshine throughout the year. The weather in Golden Beach is typically Mediterranean but the heat is not as intense as felt in the southern Greek islands. Summers in Golden Beach are hot with temperatures ranging from 24C to 28C. Rainfall in Golden Beach is minimal during the summer months and is evenly distributed during the spring, autumn and winter months.

 

The peak summer months of June, July and August will suit holiday makers who enjoy hot weather. Temperatures in Golden Beach during this period will reach just under 30C but have been known to exceed this. The humidity during this period may be high for some but the temperatures are not as excessive as those found on the southern Greek islands. Sea temperatures during the summer will hover around the mid twenties and sunshine levels are an average 12 hours per day. Evening temperatures are also warm with a minimum 17C; perfect for strolling along the beach with a cool drink.

 

Spring and autumn are particularly beautiful seasons in Golden Beach. The island does become very green and fresh during the spring with temperatures hovering around 16C plus during April. October will be warm rather than hot with temperatures just under the 20C level. Thassos is sheltered by mainland Greece and unlike other Greek islands does not suffer from windy conditions. Spring and autumn are considered by some as the perfect seasons to visit and explore Thassos, Golden Beach and the Greek islands.
