Vromolimnos Things to Do
Beaches
Vromolimnos is one of the most popular beaches on Skiathos, with fine sand and shielded by lush green hills. A good choice for families as the beautiful clear water is shallow and ideal for swimming. Younger visitors are also drawn to the resort with its beach bars and wide variety of water sports. One of the attractions of a holiday to Skiathos is the variety of beaches, which are all easily reachable either on foot or by public transport.
Water Sports
A vast array of water sports is on offer at Vromolimnos, anything from the usual pedalos and banana rides through to wake boarding, kite surfing and water ski-ing. Expert tuition is also on hand for beginners and children. There are also a small number of scuba diving schools around Skiathos that offer anything from an introductory dive to a PADI course. Conditions are ideal and will suit beginners and more advanced divers.
Walking
There are many beautiful walks with breathtaking scenery around Skiathos. There is the Bourtzi Fortress or the Kounistra Monastery and many churches that are tucked away to be found. There is also a dog sanctuary near Kounistra Monastery above Troulos and you can walk the dogs if you fancy something different. There are dirt tracks around Troulos to the northern beaches at Asselinos, passing the Kounistra Monastery on the way.
Skiathos Town
No holiday on Skiathos would be complete without a visit to the capital. With a typically lovely old town and a lively bar scene at night there is something here for everyone whether shopping or night life is your thing. Many people simply pull up a chair outside one of the many tavernas and watch the world go by. There is also a wide variety of restaurants serving local and international cuisine. The old harbour is also traffic free and perfect for that after dinner stroll.
