Troulos Things to Do
Beaches
The main attraction of a holiday in Troulos is of course the beautiful sandy beach which gently slopes into the sea, protected by pine trees and sand dunes. This is an ideal family beach on the island of Skiathos. On Troulos beach you will find a water sports school, a taverna and snack bars so there is no need to venture too far unless the mood takes you. Other coves can be reached on foot with some effort, or a motor boat can be hired to reach them from the sea.
Water Sports
There is a wide variety of watersports that can be enjoyed for people that enjoy active holidays in Troulos. The usual pedalos and banana rides are accompanied by the likes of wake boarding, kite surfing and canoeing. There are also a small number of scuba diving schools around Skiathos that offer anything from an introductory dive to a PADI course. Conditions are ideal and will suit beginners and more advanced divers.
Walking
For walkers holidaying in Troulos there are many other beaches and sights worth exploring. An easy hour long stroll would take in Aselinos beach; walk slightly further and you would find the beautiful Monastery of Kounistria and the Micro Aselinos beach. There is even a dog sanctuary where you can borrow a dog to walk for a couple of hours. A more serious hike over the hills behind Troulos would take you to the beaches in the Mandraki area of Skiathos.
Skiathos Town
No holiday to Skiathos would be complete without a visit to the capital. With a typically lovely old town and a lively bar scene at night there is something here for everyone whether shopping or night life is your thing. Many people simply pull up a chair outside one of the many tavernas and watch the world go by. There is also a wide variety of restaurants serving local and international cuisine. The old harbour is traffic free, making for a relaxed stroll taking in the atmosphere of this popular holiday destination.
