Weather in Koukounaries – Mediterranean climate on Skiathos’s stunning south-west coast
Koukounaries affords beach lovers the ideal weather, especially during the summer months. The resort experiences hot dry summers contrasted with mild, wetter winters – the typically-Mediterranean climate so many of the beautiful Greek Islands enjoy. With the maximum summer temperature in Koukounaries being 30C, cooling off with a swim in Koukounaries’ striking blue seawater is a must. There is little rainfall throughout the summer, so you can book your holiday break safe in the knowledge that a gorgeous tan and days-on-end of uninterrupted sunshine are virtually guaranteed. The average winter temperature is a cool 11C, with rainfall throughout the season expected.

The tourist season in Koukounaries stretches from June to September, with an average of 13 hours’ sunshine per day in July. The evening temperatures will also be warm and light clothing will be all that is needed when strolling around the bars or eating in the popular fish restaurants at nearby Skiathos Town. Weather in Koukounaries – Milder spring and autumn days, with increased rainfall in winter
Koukounaries is one of the prettiest resorts on Skiathos. And even once the tourist season has passed, the weather can be a delight. October and November are the autumn months, with the average temperature levelling out at around 18C. If you’ve remembered to pack good walking shoes, this could be the perfect time to get out and explore the thick woodlands that back the resort. Remember to take your camera, as the scenery and birdlife can be fantastic. As winter draws near, rainfall becomes increasingly likely. The average winter temperature from December to February in Koukounaries is 11C. With the arrival of spring in March, the weather gradually picks up again. The average temperature throughout March and April is 16C – ideal for shopping trips to Skiathos Town, or for strolls around the cobbled lanes in the older parts of the capital.
